Privacy Policy

This policy explains the limited information Howell Residents Directory may handle and the choices available to visitors. The service is a private reference to Howell and New Jersey record sources. It has no member account system and does not maintain a public-record profile about a visitor.

Information You Send Directly

A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form goes to the third-party provider that operates the results. Our own servers do not retain a copy of those searches. If you send a message, we receive its contents and use them to reply.

Technical Data Collected Automatically

Hosting produces ordinary server logs, such as IP address, browser type, requested pages, and timestamps. We review aggregate information to operate the service and understand page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, where used, advertising measurement.

How Limited Data Is Used

Limited data helps operate the reference, solve technical problems, count traffic, and improve navigation. We do not sell visitor lists or build individual user profiles.

External Websites

Links can lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. What a visitor submits there is governed by the outside service's policy, not this one. That includes sponsored search results supplied by a third party.

Who Can Process Data

Providers that host or support the service process server logs as needed. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires it and otherwise do not disclose it.

Safeguards

The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are kept only as long as the listed purposes require. There are no user accounts, so the service does not hold a visitor password or profile.

Visitors Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Contact us if a minor has sent information so it can be deleted.

Your Privacy Choices

Depending on residence and the information involved, a person may have rights to access, correct, or delete data a service keeps. New Jersey's Data Privacy Law, P.L. 2023, c.266, took effect January 15, 2025 for covered private controllers. Because this reference keeps little data, a request generally means reviewing the contact mailbox and available logs. Use the Contact page to ask. Records held by New Jersey, Monmouth County, or Howell custodians must be addressed to that custodian.

Policy Updates

A revised version will be posted here. Continued use after an update takes effect indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
