1. Purpose of the Service
Howell Residents Directory is a privately operated reference. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections relevant to people who live or lived in Howell, New Jersey. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with any office, court, or custodian.
2. Permitted Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
- Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
- Commit identity theft or fraud
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions (credit, employment, tenant, insurance)
- Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
- Interfere with the site's operation or security
3. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency
The service is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq. Neither this reference nor a result from a linked tool is a consumer report. Do not use either to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered purpose.
4. Linked Services
Government portals and outside services, including sponsored search tools, maintain their own terms and policies. We do not control or take responsibility for their content, availability, pricing, or data practices.
5. No Warranties
The service is made available "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that information is accurate, complete, or current, or that a linked portal will operate or return correct results.
6. Limits of Liability
To the fullest extent law permits, we are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including choices made from records reached through them.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the service operators against a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys' fees, caused by misuse of the service or a breach of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
The original text, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief excerpt with attribution is permitted; republishing full pages or systematically copying content is not.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after the effective update means acceptance.
10. Ending Access
We may block or limit access, without notice and at our discretion, when a user violates these terms or abuses the service.
11. Governing Law
New Jersey law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-records access in New Jersey is governed in relevant part by the New Jersey Open Public Records Act, N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., including N.J.S.A. 47:1A-5; that statute does not alter these private terms.
12. Severability
If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.
